On Saturday, May 8, the Neighborhood Family center joined forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) and the U.S. Postal Service to Stamp Out Hunger across America to provide assistance to the one in six Americans who struggle with hunger.

The food collected by the Safety Harborletter carriers will re-stock the food Pantry in the center operated by the Colaiton Outreach(CCO) which provides food for more than 300 families in the Safety Harbor, Oldmsar an Eastern Clearwater families.

Last year, letter carriers across the country collected a record total of more than 73.4 million pounds of food. But with hunger impacting 49.1 million Americans, including 16.7 million children, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s annual study measuring food security in the United States; help is needed now more than ever before.
