CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

The Children's Programs presents children with critical thinking, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills which are proven to increase social, emotional and academic success. All programs are free of charge and offered to Elementary, Middle and High School-aged youth. 

 

I CAN PROBLEM SOLVE (ICPS)

The ICPS program teaches children in Grades K through 6 how to express and manage their emotions, develop effective conflict-resolution and problem solving strategies resulting in increased social-emotional and academic success.

 

PROGRAM FOR YOUNG NEGOTIATORS/SKILLS FOR MANAGING ANGER

The Program for Young Negotiators & Skills for Managing Anger offer a positive, original approach to violence prevention to children at a time when prevention efforts can have the most success.  The program is designed specifically for middle through high school aged youth; it uses innovative role-plays, fun games, video and interactive studies to explore real-life strategies for conflict resolution, improve communication, learn effective methods to achieve personal goals. This program also promotes social-emotional and character development.

 

Youth Technology/COMPUTER LEARNING LAB

The Neighborhood Family Center offers comprehension computer classes to the community.  These classes are free to the public and are for all ages.  The Computer lab has state- of-the-art computer  and media equipment.  Classes are offered through 6 - 8 weeks sessions and include materials.  The classes offers a source for children and adults alike to use the center as a source to gain knowledge in a ever-so-technical world.
 

The Youth Technology Program offers free computer classes to children  grades K-12. The classes which run 6-8 weeks,  introduces computers, how they work, and how to use them.  The courses are Basic I,  Basic II,  Intermediate I, Intermediate II, Advanced I, Advanced II, Advanced III.    After completing this each students receive a $50 gift card and certificate of completion.
